Nick Matthews will be studying for an MBA at Harvard Business School to explore how impact investment can be used to scale social entrepreneurship and innovation. After starting his career as a consultant at PwC, Nick subsequently joined the non-profit Social Finance where he led partnerships with the public, private and social sectors to develop more effective responses to social problems. He focused on designing and structuring impact investments such as Social Impact Bonds, both in the UK and internationally. Outside of work he has volunteered as a Maths tutor and acted as Deputy Chairman of a charity that uses sport to engage young people at risk of gang involvement. He is looking forward to studying in the US due to its importance as a global centre for impact investment and social innovation, and for the opportunity to explore America’s great national parks. On completion of the Fulbright programme, Nick aims to continue building his career in the impact investment sector back in the UK.
